“Every morning I wake up and tell my brain the truth about who I am so I can live from my heart and not my head.” These are the wise words from a very precious friend of mine. I am so lucky to have her in my life to glean from and have her share her wisdom with me.

What would your day look like if you stopped and told your brain the truth? If you stopped and reminded it about the truth of who you are? If you chose not to live on automatic pilot and took authority over your thoughts?

Why do we let the opinions of others, whether in thought or deed, influence us so profoundly? Why do we allow them to diminish us, steal value from us?

Stop that! (I am speaking to myself first, and then to you!)

I have had a season of allowing the actions or inactions of others dictate my worth. I have given over my power to all the naysayers in my mind. All those conversations in my head about what I think others think…maddening! Will make a sane person nuts. All those voices whispering about my identity, my purpose, my performance, my value.

Stop the madness! Join me and stop the madness!

“Brain, listen up, I want to remind you about the truth of who I am – I am more than a conqueror, I am made in the image of God and I am perfect in Him, I am an ambassador for Christ, so listen up, stay focused, we have work to do, to usher people into Jesus’ presence and love them to wholeness. So stop the madness, the heart is leading us from now on!”

woman-running-marathon-i4Glad we had this talk! You have work to do so get going!

See you at the finish line!

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
